The finesse and glamour of Milan as a fashion capital is indisputable, and last week big fashion names and big fashion moments played out on the grandest of stages. Show after show produced stylish, stunning, and desirable looks that encapsulated a spectrum of trends and ideas from elegant sophistication at Giorgio Armani, to fresh and polished tailoring at Fendi. Famous faces lined seats and streets, the most notable being Kim Kardashian, who appeared in a sparkling red, reconfigured Dolce and Gabanna archive dress following her collaboration with the brand last season. The idea of re-fashioning and updating well made pieces is a popular trend that will hopefully resonate and endure with customers, in a sphere inundated with fashion waste. Wether it was the spirit of re-cycling, or the desire for something one of a kind, that drove Kim's decision to choose an archival look is a different matter. However, it is my hope that the former has resonated with her faithful followers and that they too will follow suit!
Here is the rundown of my top 5 trends from Milan Fashion week.
Top 5 Trends
Belts- The practicality of belts is undisputed, this season they are cinching our waists in chic and varied ways.

Winter White- certainly not to be confined to summer months, white is a versatile colour with varied hues, to compliment our wardrobes throughout the year.

Embellishment- Fringes, beading and hardware adorning clothes, shoes and bags adds that extra wow factor.

Sheer- from dresses to gloves, this look was all over the Milan catwalks. In reality, this trend can add interest if layered properly for a daytime look, or on its own for evening.

The Cold Shoulder- A favourite look of mine, especially with knitwear, adding a delicate touch to any look.
