London Fashion Week always brings a buzz to a month long circuit of shows with its eclectic range of designers, unleashing creativity in the capital over five days of stunning sartorial display. The dualities of modern and traditional played out in London, a city steeped in tradition but always open to reinvention, particularly at Burberry with the new appointment of Daniel Lee as head designer where traditional checks were amplified and silhouettes exaggerated to make for a more modern look. A key component to LFW is the fostering of new talent as showcased by several emerging designers in shows like Fashion East and Central Saint Martins where looks were current and indicative of trends to come. The shows this season presented audiences with plenty of inspiration and imagination, but the following are my top five LFW takeaways in terms of trends and shopping inspiration for Fall. Enjoy!
Top 5 Trends
Checks- so very British and so very wearable, this pattern can be worn season after season.

Long Gloves (aka Opera Gloves)- from day to night this accessory can be re-worked to create interest and elevate a look.

Plunging Necklines- not be suitable to everyone, but definitely makes a statement and worth experimenting with for evening wear.

Return of the Peplum- a look that adorned our closets a decade ago is back but more exaggerated than ever. A peplum can also look very flattering as a jacket for added interest.

The Hooded Dress - perfect for a layered daytime look but also translates to evening as shown with these super cosy dresses.
